Here’s
a few of my favorite places to go on the internet. Instead of just
throwing a ton of links with
no explanation (and I feel it would be degrading to those sites
and people) I am linking to… I’ve decided to write a
little something for each link. Enjoy.
My
local buds
www.caitlyn1701.com
The site for my wonderful and amazing friend, Caitlyn. Not
only is she the mastermind designer for my site, but she
is also an
amazing
artist with huge potential.
Be sure to check her webstrip, “Quim”, out. It is gut splitting
hilarity.
www.buymetoys.com
The site for my awesome local comic book store. If not for
the owners, Casey and Kelly Heying, I probably would
not have gotten this far. Be
sure to check
out Casey’s comic book, “The Oz Wonderland Chronicles”.
Its good, fun stuff.
www.andyjewett.com
Andy Jewett is just fabulous and one of my biggest supporters.
He’s got
an awesome style… and even though he likes the movie “Overboard” I
still love him like a brother.
http://aschell.deviantart.com
The deviant art site for my good buddy, Alan Schell. A few
months ago, he began a brilliant line of artwork called “Herotoons”.
Al is full of amazing ideas, scripts, and insight. His opinion
has helped me develop
my own art tremendously
and I thank him for that.
http://thuddleston.deviantart.com
The DA site for Terry Huddleston. His art and colouring just
blows me away. He’s
made a wonderful gallery of prints to browse through. Terry’s
also began his own small printing company. It’s well worth
checking out.
http://timeturnedfragile.deviantart.com
The DA site for the amazing photographer that is my friend
Tabitha. She constantly amazes me with the photos she
captures and usually
couples them
with amazing
words.
Deviant
art stars
http://jbrant047.deviantart.com
I met Jay Brant on Deviant Art a few months back. I was immediately
drawn to his fun style for his line of “Heads Up” pinups.
They are colorful, energetic and just damn awesome. His
is a gallery I always
love
to see new
submissions in.
http://kevtoons.deviantart.com
The DA site for Kevin Greaves. I stumbled upon his site
one night and have been addicted to his art ever since.
I can’t wait for the day I can get my grubby
hands on an original piece of Kevin’s art.
http://bezzalair.deviantart.com
The deviant art site for the amazing Caylee. Somehow
I stumbled upon her site and fell in love with her
comic “Death Chicken”. Whenever I check
my watch list I always hope she has some new installments
of DC… if
not, I just stare in awe at whatever other wonderful
art she has created.
http://madbaumer37.deviantart.com
The gallery for Jeremy Baum on Deviant Art is a surreal
and trippy adventure. I’ve loved every single
new piece he’s ever put up and continue
to look forward to new offerings from him.
http://robbvision.deviantart.com
Robb Mommaerts’ Deviant Art site. Robb’s style and
energy never ceases to amaze me. More so than not, anytime I see
a new pic of his, I just shake my
head in awe. He’s another artist who I would
to be able to get original art from at some point.
Brilliant
Convention Friends
http://www.myspace.com/troygillogly
The Myspace home for my buddy, Troy Gillogly.
Troy’s the creator of the
awesome comic book “Snuffy the Vampire
Rabbit”. I was fortunate enough
to see a sneak at the book in 2007 and had
eagerly awaited its release since then. When
I did meet up with Troy again in 2008 I was
not disappointed. The
first two issues were fabulous. Contact Troy
thru Myspace or you can order copies of the
books through Comixpress. You won’t
be disappointed.
www.badplaceproductions.com
An awesome small press company over lorded
by my buddy, Jon Hodges. He was a wonderful
person
to
chat and hang
with and
has a deep
love for
what he
does. In 2007 he introduced me to the character “Woodboy” and
this year he helped my buddy, Paul Schultz,
with the production of “The Serial
Squad!”.
Both books are fantastic trips through
the imaginations of the creators involved,
and
I thank Jon for helping that become possible.
There needs
to be more
folks like him.
www.kidnappedbygnomes.com
A wonderful webstrip created by Kathy Peterson.
It’s adorable,
hilarious and very addicting.
www.killjoycomics.com
A fun collective site of goodies. Be
sure to check out all its offerings,
although
I am
very addicted
to the
strip “Labrats”. It’s
kept me giggling since I met its creator,
Mark Anticole, and found out about
it. While there ask
them about the book “Write of
Passage”, a hilarious 24Hour
themed book created by Mark Anticole
and Todd Swanson. It’s
amazing.
www.lilformers.com
Wow… I stumbled upon this work of brilliance by mistake
one night and have been addicted to it ever since. The
art is near
perfect and
the writing
is always
funny.
www.illwillpress.com
The home of Foamy the Squirrel. If
you’re not familiar
with him, you should be. Go become addicted to his short videos. |
